Quick and Easy Bookmark

I saw this design at our monthly Demonstrators Meeting and knew immediately who I wanted to make one for! It has become one of my favorite gifts to make as it is quick and easy, but looks like a million bucks! I used my new Fun Flowers Die for my Big Shot to cut out the flower petals (Occasions Mini Catalog good until April 30, 2011, #121812, P39). I used Blushing Bride Cardstock (#119796, P165) and then inked each petal with Riding Hood Red Ink (#111836, P168) and sponge (#101610, P195) to give it depth. Lighten up the ink as you move towards the center and some of the edges of each petal.

I used a Certainly Celery Button from the Subtles Designer Buttons collection (#119745, P186) tied with linen thread (#104199, P190) and Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon (#117288, P191) for the sash even though the sample I saw used grosgrain ribbon. Any ribbon would work actually!

The little tag I tied onto the button was made by punching Blushing Bride Cardstock with our Jewelry Tag Medium Punch (#117190, P202) and then stamping with one of the stamps from our Tiny Tags stamp set (#118592, P130) in Riding Hood Red Ink.

To finish off the opposite end of the ribbon, I punched a scallop circle using our 2 3/8" Scallop Circle Extra-Large Punch (#118874, P200) out of our Love Letter Designer Series Paper (#117162, P173). Then using our Big Shot Circles#2 Die (#114526, P213), I cut the largest circle from Our First Edition Designer Series Paper also in the Occasiona Mini Catalog (#121878, P25).

You could also use our 1 3/4" Circle Extra-Large Punch (#119850, P202) and the 1 3/8" Circle Large Punch (#119860, P202) if you have them. The circles won't be as large, but they would work fine with the size of the ribbon. Make a bunch for all those friends who always have their nose tucked in a book.....Such a conversation piece!
